The Man Who Wasn't There

I don't think our guild has the most exacting standards when it comes to membership. Honestly, all we ask is that the person has some semblance of intelligence, can type in a way that is understandable and doesn't do any of the following:

1. Set lizards on fire.
2. Try to run over a fellow guild mate with his car.
3. Isn't a bigot.

That's really all I'm asking for. And, if you think I'm joking...I have now experienced all three. All games have them. It's become a trend for us:

The truth? I'm just unhappy I wasted 1,000 gold on a bigotted racist.

I got some Uwe on my sleeve. *grin* I love bad jokes, my bad. Personally, I don't think I'd ever go up against a person who has been boxing for a large portion of his/her life...regardless of how I feel about his/her movies. However, just because Uwe can beat the crap out of them does not a good director make. In fact, it makes him a bully.

I started watching Elfen Lied last night and what a fucked up anime. Utterly fascinating. But utterly bizarre, strange, and...well, fucked up. And yet...I can't look away. Explain that one to me. Has anyone seen it? I have one more episode on the first disc and another 12 episodes after that.

Also spent some time last night farming money in Guild Wars. One of my guildmates gave me a pretty nice Warrior/Monk build that allows you to solo some mobs and get all the money/items that drop. Made about 13,000 gold last night with only a about 1.5 hours at the most of farming. Woot.

I also listened to Janet Jackson's new cd twice which has been streaming on www.bet.com for the last week or so. I absolutely love it. I think it's probably my favorite album of hers, on par with The Velvet Rope (which apparently is one of her least liked...though I love it so much...go figure). It's nice to have Janet going back to her roots. The goal was apparently to invoke her breakthrough album, Control, except for today's time. And I think it worked. It's a terrific album and it's awesome that it marks her 20th year in the music business. Go her. I can't wait to buy the CD today. I love hard rock music, I think everyone here knows that. But, I love Janet and unlike some of my other pop music taste fiascos that shall remain nameless, I'm not embarassed to say it ^_^

It's Monday already? Sheesh, how did that happen? Had a great weekend, lots of fun to be had in Nightfall's Elona. Actually, this weekend was pretty productive. Made a couple resolutions that I plan to follow through with, mailed out a package of goodies to my friends in Washington <33 8fallenangel8 and m0ui, found out that Bakers carries Perogies and made a real homecooked meal Sunday (as opposed to heating up soup or something) of marinated chicken and said perogies.

Productive!

I have to spend $270 to renew my license/registration for my car. I wasn't expecting to spend that kind of money this month, and it comes at a bad time. But! We're getting a nice bonus at work for everything we did this summer in preparation for the new system to come to be. And because of the new setup of appraisals I should be getting my "annual bonus" this month instead of next July. So...I guess I know where that money will be going heh.

I'm not sure if anyone is interested or not, but I have a free trial of Guild Wars Factions and Prophecies if someone wants it. It's a 14 day/10 hour (or is it 10 day/14 hour? hmmm...) trial that you can use on Factions and Prophecies. If someone is interested drop me a line and its yours. All you need is the key and then download the game client from their website. I just have one, so first come first served.

Oh and I watched the first four episodes of an anime recommended to me by 8fallenangel8 called Chrno Crusade. It is really good! A lot of anime I watch either bores me (Noir) or annoys me (most of the stuff on adult swim). I'm just not a huge fan. But, I am a fan of things with story and are drawn beautifully and so far Chrno has both. Another thing I really like about it is that the stories are connected. A lot of animes I've seen have a greater story arc, but for the most part (the beginning episodes in particular) each episode could be watched individually. So, there's this pacing and this intrigue that's making me continue. I have a need to know how it's going to end and I like that.

I also have Elfen Lied to watch which I've heard is rather...interesting...to say the least. Violent and gory and twisted. Sounds like a good time to me *grin*

Guild Wars is being a bitch and not letting us Nebraskans to log on. I think it's being biased towards us Nebraskans, actually. Chris, Allison, Matt and I, none of us can log on and we all live in NE. And we were planning on trying an Elite mission. And now we can't.

Damn you Guild Wars, damn you.

So, now I am just chillin', listenin' to my fellow guildmates and wishing I were in the game. So, because I'm not, I decided I would post. I really have nothing to say, but here I am anyway. Posting. Yes. Blah. LET ME IN!

EDIT: 2 hours later and it's finally back up for us Midwesterners. Still beats the problems people had connecting to WoW. But damn.
